Do you know the history of letterboxing in North America? You don’t know this one! Wassamatta_U presents his “Boxer Brief History of Letterboxing” as the keynote address at LB CON 2009 in St. Louis, MO on July 18, 2009. Brought to you in it’s entirety by the Letterpod! NOTE: This is a large file and will take several minutes to load, you may want to walk away and come back or click “download” below and view it on your computer on Quicktime.
Over two years in the making! In 2006 Dale End Farm had a letterboxing story to share. A true life adventure of a late night encounter with two letterboxers she had heard of but never met, Oldhounder and Siamese. She even references the story in the first Fright Night video in 2006. The story was finally captured on video at Fright Night 4 in Gorham, Maine in October of 2008. Dale End Farm is joined by Oldhounder himself for her comedic story of a late night encounter. (You too can visit the Yggdrasil Letterbox Series)
What do you do after you have filmed and watched hours and hours of video footage? You go back and pick out all the mistakes, bloopers, funny bits, and random events that didn’t make the cut, but are too funny to go unseen. Thanks to all the letterboxers in this video for allowing us to giggle at your expense, we love you. This video was shot at the Fright Night 4 gathering in Gorham, Maine in 2008.
Fright Night 4 took place in Gorham, Maine on October 25, 2008. The following video highlights a small portion of that event. Jackbear, in disguise, as Geraldo Rivera filmed a few of the attendees and events during the daytime gathering, capturing some shocking video that rivals his work on Al Capone’s Vault, his embedded tour in Iraq, and his daytime shock show. The following is rated PG-13 for some adult innuendo. (The movie file (.mov) is large in size, so click on the image below and give it a few minutes to stream ahead to avoid lots of stops and starts, or simply click on “Download” in green below the image and let it download the movie to your computer and watch it later (Quicktime recommended.)
Another Oscar Award winning film from producer Ron Jones! This is Fright Night 3, a letterbox gathering in Gorham, Maine. It’s a large file, about 23 MB, so will take awhile for the browser to load, but it is well worth the wait! Find out what were some of these letterboxers scariest moments while letterboxing!
This video was submitted by the RIFamily. Here is the backstory: We were at a drive by today, in the rain, in Rhode Island. When I came back to the car with the box and looked at the log book, I said, “Oh, guess who the first finders are, of course….” I assumed my husband would answer… but no…..from the back seat, my five year old son, who apparently pays WAY more attention to things than we give him credit for!, said “Wanda and Pete!” We couldn’t believe it!! I could have died laughing. So I immediately “reenacted” the moment on video.
Keep in mind that our lead actor, Tiger Boy, is five years old!

This video was originally released on November 4, 2006, and was produced by Ron Jones. It was recorded at Frightnight 2 in York, Maine. The video can be viewed below (broadband), watched in iTunes, or downloaded and played with Quicktime. (19.7Mb) It does take a minute or two to load even on fast connections, but is well worth it if you have not seen this before!
